A baby is a blessing, a sign of new life and joyful innocence, and is celebrated for many months before birth. I believe the news of this little blessing elicited extra cheers, and now that he's here, he's surrounded by so much love. It was a treat to spend a morning with him, capturing his sleepy poses and calm demeanor. His mom joked that through all of the picking up, laying down, and wardrobe changes, baby must have been thinking "what on earth is going on?", but he handled it all so well, and reminded me of just how sweet newborns can be.
